1. Who we are
QRHub (qrhub.thebytepulse.com) is a free QR code generator operated by The Byte Pulse (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
Contact for privacy questions: info@thebytepulse.com. Phone: +92 318 6438850. Company site: thebytepulse.com.
2. Scope
This policy applies to the QRHub website, related APIs, and QR redirect links we host (for example URLs under /r/). It does not cover third-party sites you open after scanning a QR code that points to an external destination.
3. No public account required
You can use QRHub’s public tools without creating an account or signing in. We do not require a name, email, or password to generate a QR code on the public site.
Separate administrative accounts may exist for internal operators of The Byte Pulse. Those accounts use authentication cookies solely for secure admin access and are not offered to the general public.
4. Information you provide when generating a QR code
When you click generate, the content you enter (for example a URL, WiFi SSID and password, phone number, vCard fields, UPI details, or other payload fields) is sent to our servers so we can create a short redirect link and store the QR record.
That payload may include personal data if you choose to enter it (such as a name, email, phone number, or address in a vCard). You control what you type. Do not put secrets you are not willing to store with us into a QR payload.
Generated QR codes encode a QRHub redirect URL. When someone scans that code, our servers look up the stored payload and send the user to the destination (or display the content, depending on QR type).
5. Information collected when a QR code is scanned
When a visitor opens a QRHub redirect link, we may log technical details needed to operate and improve the service, including:
- A hashed form of the visitor’s IP address (not the raw IP)
- Approximate location derived from network headers when available (for example country and city)
- Browser, operating system, and device category from the user-agent string
- HTTP referrer, if present
- Timestamp of the scan and which QR record was opened
We use this information for service reliability, abuse prevention, and internal analytics related to QR usage. Raw IP addresses are hashed before storage.
6. Automatic technical data
Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard server logs (such as IP address, request URL, and timestamps) to deliver pages, secure the service, and diagnose outages. We do not sell this information.
8. How we use information
- To generate, store, and resolve QR codes you create
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot QRHub
- To understand aggregate usage of QR redirects
- To respond when you contact us by email or phone
- To comply with law or enforce our Terms of Service
10. Retention
QR payloads and related scan records are retained while needed to provide redirect functionality and operate the product. We may delete or anonymize data earlier when it is no longer required, or longer when law or legitimate security needs require it.
If you want a specific QR record removed, contact us at info@thebytepulse.com with enough detail for us to locate it (for example the short code or redirect URL).
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Avoid placing highly sensitive credentials in QR payloads unless you accept the risk that anyone with the code (or access to our systems under lawful process) could recover the encoded content.
12. Children
QRHub is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided data to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
13. International processing
The Byte Pulse is based in Pakistan. Information may be processed in Pakistan and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using QRHub you understand that your information may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data-protection laws than your own.
14. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal data, or to object to processing. To make a request, email info@thebytepulse.com. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
15. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of QRHub after an update means you accept the revised policy.
